Important Note: This is NOT a oneshot, read part one Here.

You corked another Elfroot potion and placed it on the shelf. Donations to the clinic were at an all time high as more Darktowners tried their hand at adventuring. Many were injured after leaving the city, but they brought back with them elfroot and other helpful herbs. You looked up from your work and caught Anders looking at you. You locked eyes for a moment and smiled, then he went back to working.

You studied him as he used his healing magic on a young girl’s cut. A poultice would have done just as well, but she was enraptured by the light blue glow of his hands. Anders was a changed man from when you first met him. No longer did his magic syphon strength that he did not have. The soft blue glow of his magic illuminated healthy, tanned skin that neither bruised nor broke easily. He filled out his robes in a way that only muscles could, allowing them to fit the contours of his body. The robes, too, you had convinced him to change. With spare coin he earned from Hawke and coin you earned doing tailor work, your bought heavy fabric and new feathers to make robes that would actually protect him, rather than just preserve his modesty.

“I’ve got it from here, darling. I believe it’s your bedtime.” You announced. The young girl’s eyes widened and she looked up at Anders with confusion.

“You have a bedtime, serrah?” She asked, disbelief clear in her voice. Anders chuckled and stood from where he was kneeling on the floor.

“I certainly do. And I’m sure you do as well. Go to the nice lady and she’ll give you a pastry to take home, hmm? A prize for being a good patient.” The girl raced to you with the preposterous idea of adults having bedtimes entirely forgotten. You gave her two pastries instead of just one, and wrapped them in a cloth.

“Be very careful getting home. I wouldn’t like to see you too soon.” The girl hugged you and accepted the pastries with a snaggle-toothed smile. You watched her dart out of the clinic without a care. As much as you’d like to take care of the children in Darktown, they were almost wholly self-sufficient. You glanced back to your room and saw that Anders was already asleep. Ever the hypocrite, you decided to stay up a bit longer to do your rounds.

Anders, for the fourth time, had rejected a chance to go romping about the Wounded Coast with Hawke. Hawke’s other companions rarely, if ever, turned him down, so Varric decided to find out what was going on. His sources had repeated increased activity near the clinic, but they weren’t clear about what that implied. With Bianca at his back, he could take any of the normal Darktown crowd, but if Anders was harboring some secret Mage gang, he would hardly have a chance.

His caution wasn’t needed. Whatever the Dwarf expected when he opened the door to the clinic, you were not it. Anders was nowhere to be seen and you were tending to the patients, wrapping  wounds and passing out bread and water. The squeak of the door alerted you to his presence and Varric was unarmed by your [Eye Color] gaze.

“Can I help you, Messure? Anders is asleep in the back, if you need him.” You said with a soft smile.

Varric understood, then.

If he had a little girlfriend, he’d follow Hawke around less too. Blondie hadn’t been sleeping for a long time before Varric met him, but the man had begun to look more like a human and less like a possessed corpse in recent months. If you were the cause of that, who was Varric to complain?

“No-uh... Just take care of Blondie for me, will you?” He asked. You didn’t know this dwarf, but you knew of him. Varric Tethras, the storyteller. Anders described him as “A disarming rogue with a heart of gold.. or chest hair of gold.” Looking at him, you decided he might have both. You smiled warmly at him and looked back to where Anders was sleeping almost peacefully.

“Of course, messure.” He left with a bow and you finished your rounds at the clinic. Whatever the dwarf’s motives were in coming here, you hoped he was satisfied. You blew the lamps out in the clinic and crawled into bed with Anders, shedding your top layer of clothes.

The next morning, you woke up trapped in the circle of Anders’ arms.

“Darling, I know you’re awake.” You said, tracing the thin line of hair that led from his torso to his smallclothes. He chuckled and pulled you flush against him, pressing kisses to your face and neck.

“Can’t we stay in bed a bit late today, darling? You sent me to bed alone last night.” The kiss he gave you then was soft and teasing. A brush of the lips to make you want more. You sighed happily and laid your head on his chest. You would complain, later, about his laziness, but for now this was where the two of you belonged.

The final part of the request for :iconpr0fessor-kick-arse:
I really love Anders. This is just a glimpse into what the Reader's relationship with Anders would be like on a normal day.

As always, info about requests is in my journal.
